Message from the Secretary of Culture
We are thrilled, at this public art gallery of the Parque Independencia, to host the exhibition New Perspectives: Dominican Republic, a journey of photographic expressions of the natural and cultural heritage of our country, the result of the work undertaken by the artist's lens, Anne Casale, with the auspices of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode) and GFDD.
Anne Casale introduce herself into the natural tendencies by showing the reality: witness accounts of the beauty of our beaches, mountains, valleys and cities.
With no picture manipulations, she reflects shadows, details, color and light, and with aesthetic achievements, she discovers new ways of revealing a subjectivist and poetic language that recalls the exhibition "Earth from Above" from the famous photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand French, which inaugurated this open air gallery in 2006.
Undoubtedly, a picture retains the ephemeral, the fleeting. With further screening, it recognizes historical and personal situations. As with all artistic expression we create concern. In its communication it creates the will to know and appreciate.
Anne Casale through his photograph unveils us a marvelous country.
.
Let this exhibition by Anne Casale, sponsored by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode) and GFDD, with special dedication of the Hon. President of the Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández Reyna, be an incentive to care for our beaches, to continue the sustainable development, to preserve the archaeological heritage, to strengthen our identity, to know and enjoy the wealth of a country that belongs to us and makes us unique.
